In brief
Once a site is shovel-ready, Bright & Green builds it itself and then hands it over to its own operations. In this position you lead a construction project from the award of the trades to acceptance: structural works, electrical engineering, cooling, battery storage and the connection to the substation. You are accountable to the managing partner for schedule, cost and quality.
Responsibilities
- You tender design and construction services, evaluate the offers and award the trades on the basis of the German construction contract rules (VOB/B).
- You appoint and direct the design engineers, whose scopes of service follow the German fee structure for planning services (HOAI).
- You maintain the schedule and the cost plan, check invoices and process variations.
- You coordinate the trades with one another and with the grid operator, so that substation and building are commissioned together.
- You ensure occupational safety on site, including coordination under the German Construction Site Ordinance (BaustellV).
- You carry out the acceptances, pursue defects and hand the plant over to operations with complete documentation.
Requirements
- A degree in civil engineering, architecture or industrial engineering, or a technician qualification with corresponding practice.
- Five years and more leading industrial, commercial or data centre construction projects.
- Confident application of VOB/B and HOAI, and experience in variation and defect management.
- Knowledge of the DIN EN 50600 series, or the willingness to acquire it.
- Experience with occupational safety on construction sites, and a VCA certificate or the willingness to obtain one.
- German at negotiation level and confident English; presence on site and a category B driving licence.
