In brief
Data centres are decided in the procedure of a municipality and under the attention of its public. In this position you are accountable for communication with newsrooms, municipalities and residents, and you accompany the participation stages of the local planning procedure. Bright & Green publishes its projects only once they have been announced, and this position carries that confidentiality. It can be held full time or part time.
Responsibilities
- You own press relations, including releases, background briefings and the preparation of the managing partner for interviews.
- You prepare and run community engagement at the sites, from the public information evening to the answer to a single enquiry.
- You accompany the participation stages of the local planning procedure and produce the papers for council and committees.
- You build and maintain the contacts with municipalities, authorities and associations in Germany and in the Netherlands.
- You edit the content for the website, trade publications and presentation material in German and English.
- You prepare the communication around project announcements while observing the agreed confidentiality.
Requirements
- A degree in communications, political science or economics, or a journalistic training.
- Several years in corporate communications, public affairs or editorial work, preferably on infrastructure, energy or construction projects.
- Experience in communicating contested projects to residents, local politics and newsrooms.
- An understanding of German land-use planning, its participation stages and the role of municipal committees.
- Confident editorial German and English, Dutch an advantage.
- Judgement in handling confidential project information before it is announced.
