In brief
Every project has a commercial lead alongside its technical one. In this position you are accountable for budget, contracts, payment cycles and reporting of the project companies, from the development phase through the investment decision to handover to operations. Your remit covers projects in Germany and in the Netherlands.
Responsibilities
- You draw up and maintain the project budget, cost tracking and liquidity planning for each project company.
- You administer the construction and supply contracts commercially, value variations under the German VOB/B and manage bonds and insurance.
- You prepare the investment decisions, model the business case and its sensitivities, and test the assumptions behind them.
- You control payment cycles and invoice verification and hold the interface to the accounting of the holding company in Arnhem.
- You report cost, programme and risk to the managing partner and to the financing partners.
- You build the commercial project record that has to carry financing, audit and a later participation or disposal.
Requirements
- A degree in business administration, industrial engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Several years of commercial accountability for infrastructure, energy or construction projects, preferably within project companies.
- Confident handling of construction contracts under the German VOB/B and of variation and claim management.
- Experience in building and reviewing financial models for long-lived assets.
- Knowledge of financial reporting in Germany and in the Netherlands, or the willingness to learn both.
- German and English at negotiation level, Dutch an advantage.
