In brief
Without secured land close to the grid, no project begins. In this position you approach owners, municipalities and agents, assess plot geometry, planning designation and distance to the substation, and carry the negotiation through to a notarised purchase, lease or option agreement. Bright & Green carries the development risk; the owner provides the land.
Responsibilities
- You approach owners, municipalities, economic development agencies and agents, and open up land that is not offered on the market.
- You assess every plot before the first approach: geometry, topography, planning designation, access and distance to the nearest substation.
- You negotiate purchase, lease and option agreements and coordinate the drafts with legal counsel and the notary.
- You clarify the land register position, encumbrances and rights of first refusal, and arrange the registration of easements for cable routes and access.
- You record owner conversations, terms and deadlines in the site documentation so that they remain traceable.
- You remain the owner's point of contact throughout the development period, until the site passes to project development.
Requirements
- A commercial or real estate qualification, a degree in a related field, or an equivalent background.
- Several years in land or property acquisition, for example for solar parks, wind energy, logistics or commercial property.
- Confidence with purchase and lease agreements, pre-emption rights, land register extracts and standard land values.
- A working knowledge of German planning law (BauGB, BauNVO) and the ability to judge early whether a plot can be developed at all.
- German at native level, as negotiations with owners and municipalities are conducted in German.
- A category B driving licence and extensive willingness to travel, as the search area covers the whole of Germany.
