In brief
The design of a data centre is decided on site. In this position you run that site and turn the design into a building fit for acceptance: shell, electrical systems and cooling against a programme whose critical path runs through the energisation of the grid connection. Because Bright & Green operates the building afterwards, you also decide how maintainable it will be.
Responsibilities
- You carry out site supervision under HOAI work stage 8 for the building shell, electrical systems, cooling and external works.
- You coordinate the trades against a programme whose critical path runs through the energisation of the grid connection and the medium-voltage switchgear.
- You administer the construction contracts under the German VOB/B, check measurements and variations and release invoices together with the commercial project manager.
- You enforce site safety in line with the requirements of the VCA** certification and the applicable German DGUV accident prevention rules.
- You prepare the acceptance inspections, pursue defects to closure and hand the building over to operations with complete as-built documentation.
- You report programme, cost, quality and risk to the project manager and to the managing partner.
Requirements
- A degree in civil engineering, architecture or building services engineering, or a technician qualification with relevant practice.
- Several years of site management on industrial, logistics or data centre buildings, demonstrably including the execution phase.
- Confident application of the German VOB/B and HOAI, and experience in variation and defects management.
- Knowledge of the interface between shell and building services, in particular medium voltage, standby generation and cooling.
- Experience in site coordination, including the duty of care and instruction obligations that fall to the client.
- German at negotiation level, English for technical coordination, presence on site and a category B driving licence.
