In brief
Health and safety is decided on the site and in daily operation. In this position you are accountable for occupational safety, health and environmental protection across the construction sites and the operating assets in Germany and the Netherlands, and you advise site management and operations in person. Bright & Green is certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, VCA** and SEI, and you keep that framework standing. The position can be held full time or part time.
Responsibilities
- You perform the duties of the occupational safety specialist under the German Occupational Safety Act (ASiG) and DGUV Rule 2.
- You produce and maintain the risk assessments for construction sites, electrical installations, battery storage and data centre operation.
- You maintain the VCA** certification and the health, safety and environmental requirements of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, and support the audits.
- You audit subcontractors on site, deliver the safety briefings and pursue every finding through to closure.
- You investigate accidents and near misses, derive corrective measures and report them to the managing partner.
- You look after the environmental matters of the sites, in particular waste, hazardous substances and installations handling substances hazardous to water under the German AwSV ordinance.
Requirements
- Qualification as an occupational safety specialist under section 7 of the German Occupational Safety Act, or an equivalent Dutch safety qualification.
- Several years in occupational safety on industrial or plant construction sites, preferably with electrical trades.
- Sound knowledge of the VCA requirements and of the applicable DGUV rules, including the inspection duties for electrical installations and equipment.
- Experience with management systems to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001; knowledge of ISO 45001 is an advantage.
- The ability to enforce requirements on subcontractors without bringing the construction sequence to a halt.
- Confident written and spoken German and English, Dutch an advantage, and readiness to travel to sites in both markets.
