François van Burk
François van Burk leads Bright & Green as managing partner and is responsible for strategy and day-to-day business: the development, construction and operation of data centres and battery storage in Germany and the Netherlands.

Energy as the starting point
Bright & Green built its expertise in energy: over 10 years, more than 1,500 solar installations built, and battery storage alongside them. That work is the source of what now sits at the core of the company – how a grid connection agreement is obtained, what capacity a battery delivers to the grid, and which conditions a site has to satisfy.

Grid connection before land and building
The constraint on a data centre in Germany is neither the land nor the building, but the power supply. Every Bright & Green project therefore begins at the grid: substation, connection agreement, storage and generation. Only once the energy supply is secured does a plot become a site.

Development, construction and operation in one accountability
Bright & Green does not hand a project over once it has been permitted. Development, construction and operation remain within one accountability, so that operators, investors, municipalities and landowners have a single counterpart for the entire life of the project, and one that stands behind the result.

“Anyone intending to build a data centre first requires secured capacity at the grid. Bright & Green comes from energy. That is why our projects begin at the grid connection and do not end with the permit, but in operation.”
